Updates, Proofing & Writing

Wow it seems like forever since I posted anything on here! I thought that this time I’d update y’all on some things that are coming up and have been happening, writing wise. 🙂 And maybe, just maybe, pass on a few nuggets you can save for later.

Teaser # 3Ohre finished it’s five day free promo, thanks to Amazon Kindle and was a big success! At least, a big success in my mind, lol. I really enjoyed seeing the numbers just to know that people were interested. And after all, who doesn’t love freebies? Now I’m working on Tamn, the sequel. This novella will probably take us back a little in terms of flashbacks, so that we learn what happened to the Pioneer crew. What exactly did they go through to find the younglings? And of course, we’ll show his past, present and hint at his future with Qeya.

cropped-vynasha-v2.jpgNext up on my -W.I.P is Vynasha, A Wylder Tale. It’s a series that I’ve been working on off and on for several years. I have so many of those collecting virtual dust in my future book files, lol. The good thing for y’all is that means a never-ending supply of stories. The bad thing for me is taking these books I started four + years ago and turning them into working novels.

Vynasha is in second draft mode and I’m slowly getting through piece by piece. 🙂 Be looking for the cover reveal and of course the Goodreads post. Because this weekend I will write the rough synopsis!

I’ve learned so much in such a short time it seems like with my writing. It’s crazy that before I got into this business I thought of how easy it would be and that I was already “there” in a lot of ways. But, oh man! My writing was so raw and uncut and the biggest struggle is learning how to make it clean but keep your voice, for me. There’s times when I want to go on and on in description and I have to curb my gusto. Which is a big part of fleshing out the final piece. Plugging in info so that your meaning is clear. Because something I’ve had to learn is not everyone can see into your brain and they don’t always get “abstract.” Eesh, I don’t even get abstract art half the time. ;p

So my best advice on that subject is if you think you’re stuff is brilliant, read a classic for a change instead of commercial or even fanfiction. Keeps it in perspective!

I’ve been reading the proof copy of Stay lately and have enjoyed getting to read the final product straight through. It’s probably the first thing I’ve written with my new writing attitude in mind. Keeping an eye on things and not just going crazy, I mean. But I’m excited to finish the corrections so I can put it on print on Amazon & Barnes & Noble and do a Goodreads giveaway! Woot!

Eesh there’s been so much going on in my head about writing in general, but I think I’ll save that for the next update, lol.

Meantime, enjoy your weekend! Here’s hoping that we all get some big things accomplished! And that I don’t watch too many Dr. Who episodes ;p
