Book Tour Launch for
Silver Hollow
By Jennifer Silverwood
Note from the Author
Welcome fantasy fans! If you’re reading this, you’re more than likely keen on the supernatural, the unexplained magic behind our increasingly tech world. Or…mayhaps you love anything with castles, ball gowns and romance. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. Silver Hollow is a place where the mythic and mundane collide, where madness is just another name for honesty and adults can believe in fairy tales again. It also happens to be my first full-length novel.
Let me tell you how it happened.
Following my mid-twenties “life crisis” in 2011, I made a tough choice. I decided to quit fooling myself, pursuing degrees in subjects I had zero passion for. I moved back home and got a nearby job to save up money and, you know, live off of. But mostly I chose to write. Stories had been pouring out of me for as long as I could remember. Most writers you meet will share similar origin stories. And like any great superhero tale, mine included that pinnacle moment. Where I chose to pursue my dreams of publication. I published Silver Hollow the following November. 2012 was a great year for Indie Authors. The eBook world was still relatively small and new. Best of all, we had ultimate creative freedom and people wanted to read our books. Silver Hollow took off and had I been a smart cookie, I would have written my sequels immediately.
Needless to say that didn’t happen. Instead I chose the path less traveled and wrote two more stand-alones, two more novellas and the Wylder Tales series. But Silver Hollow never left my thoughts. It was my passion project, my first book baby, and let’s be honest it wasn’t too well-written. Six years later, I chose to release a completely revised and expanded edition.
Originally I thought, “Oh, I’ll just cut unnecessary fluff, tighten up scenes and update dialogue.” Well, about midway down the rabbit hole, I discovered so many plot bunnies, they were keeping our heroine from moving forward. After sending the bunnies to a nice free-range farm next county over, I rewrote the middle of this book. Before the end I learned Silver Hollow could be so much more than I had expected. If I was willing to go beyond the original story. If I was brave enough to bring in elements I didn’t have the skill to write the first time. I went for it, because in this case I figured “go big or go home.” I rewrote and revised over 142,100 words, maxing out around 459 (word document) pages total. We certainly went big and by taking risks this book exceeded my expectations. I’m so blissfully happy with this edition I can’t wait to share it with y’all. And on that note, I can’t wait to get started on the sequel. 😉
A thousand thanks to the lovely Prism Book Tours and all the fabulous bloggers who are contributing to this tour. We have a lot of fun ahead this week, along with the chance to win some very bookish prizes! Happy reading and may the odds be ever in your favor.

“I shouldn’t have to tell you this isn’t a fairy story…”
After her parents’ car crash ten years before, Amie Wentworth trusts books more than people. She may be a writer, but she believes in reality over fiction. She ignores the unexplained mysteries surrounding her, never mind the dreams of a past life, or the fact she can fry technology with a touch. Not even a timely invitation from her long-lost uncle in England gives Amie incentive for anything other than ire.
Until she is stabbed in an alley and brought back to life by a handsome stranger. Soon Amie is dragged into the very sort of tale she is used to selling. To make matters worse, the man who saved her life keeps turning up and her would-be-murderer is still at large.
After crossing the Atlantic to her father’s homeland, she discovers a world beyond imagining. Silver Hollow is a place of ancient traditions and supernatural dangers, where everything is the opposite of what it seems and few escape sane. Faced with an impossible choice, Amie is forced to confront a deadly family legacy while remembering a life she soon wishes to forget.
**Previously published in 2012. This NEW EDITION has been FULLY REVISED AND EXPANDED. The original novel is now no longer available.**
