Make the most of time, because time isn't going to slow down for you. Every moment is precious, and while creating and working is absolutely worth doing, you're only young-ish once. And your kids and the kids in your life won't stay little for long. Make good memories to cling to on darker days. Write down happy moments, to remind yourself what life can be, even if that isn't what always is. Find happiness in the little moments.
Scarred Beauty Release & Teaser
The beast snarled and lifted its head, sniffing at the house, at the prey waiting inside. But the instant the door shut, a wave of magick passed over the structure at Vynashaโs back, sealing the wylderfolk within. โEasy, eyes on me,โ she said as she brought her bleeding hand before its face. The beast cocked its head aside and its shoulders hunched, brown fur bristling as it pressed its wet nose into her palm. She bit back a cry as the beast ran a rough tongue over her wound with a rumbling purr. The rubies in the dagger bit into the hand she kept ready behind her back, just in case.
The Borderlands Saga Trailer is Live!
When I reached out to Nada Qamber about making a book trailer for the Borderlands Saga, I felt a little silly. After all, everyone knows book trailers are a thing of the past. Nobody makes them anymore and instead uses GIFs. But I wanted to find a unique way to market my box set, and I have worked so long on this series that I wanted to treat myself a little bit.
Lessons in Free Writing: Part 2
My first novels always came back to me so lined with red by my editors, it was a shock when I began to receive far less several books down the road. So give yourself an hour here and there to have fun. Adults need to "play" sometimes, too. It's what helps us find that little extra spark of joy or inspiration again.
Why Do Reviews Matter?
Over a decade into my author career, I know better than to read every review. I stay away from Goodreads on principle unless it's to share my own thoughts on recent reads. But I do tend to read what's posted on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and elsewhere. Usually, it's a fantastic experience, until it's not...
To Look Ahead & Behind
This may just be me, but I feel like I've been in a race against myself for the last year. No matter how I delegated my time and made breaks for yoga, walks, and just moments to breathe. No matter how on top of my "to-do" list I managed. No matter how often I told myself to just take it a day at a time. Nothing totally did away with that niggling background voice chanting: "Not enough, not enough, not enough..."
