All you need to know about Blackbriar Cove!

For every copy of Silver Hollow and Blackbriar Cove I sell and you review, or every cup of coffee someone buys me, that much more goes toward the next book in this series. I'll do everything I possibly can from my end to bring the rest of this series to life, but I'll need your help along the way to get there. Even by sharing about the new release would be such a huge help. To those of you who have already done and given so much to make this possible, I can't thank you enough. Only tell you how humbled and grateful I am to be part of this fantastic bookish community.

Come chat Fantasy with me tomorrow!

I'm excited to share I'll be live on Twitter tomorrow at 10AM CT (for my fellow US mid-westerners!) (11AM NY / 4PM UK) for the @WyrdandWonder event! Our main topic will be about forest fantasy. Think of all the tales you loved growing up that took place in an enchanted forest. It so happens that Silver Hollow and Blackbriar Cove use forests as part of their storytelling element. I happen to think I'm also most qualified for this topic for a more obvious reason...

What Inspires You?

Most creatives I know reach that point where the cup runs empty. You struggle to find inspiration, the muse leaves you, or you can't seem to find ways to replenish your creativity. For fun, and on a variation of a theme, I wanted to share some of what has inspired me lately. Are you ready?

It’s Never too Late to Start Over

I no longer beat myself up for not accomplishing what I set out to do or compromising in order to keep up my emotional and interpersonal health. Like I tell my six-year-old, so long as you try your best, that's what counts. These days, I am trying my best to do better in every aspect of my life. With the mental and emotional room to turn to business and the business of writing, I'm approaching 2022 with a fresh attitude.

Teaser Tuesday: Blackbriar Cove

Today, (to keep myself accountable 🙂 I'm sharing my final Tuesday Teaser for Blackbriar Cove. I'm about to ship off my manuscript to my editor and finally fix a release date, and all that jazz. I promise to deliver you safely back to reality when we're done. 😉

Weekly Writerly Witterings ~ Lessons in Writing

It's been a while since I wrote about writing. Probably because I've had something of a love/hate relationship with my passion for the past year. The older I get, the harder it becomes to simply throw myself into a story the way I did pre-kid and pre-adulting. I can no longer blindly write into the night. If I want to get anything accomplished in any of my current projects, it needs to become habit.

Tuesday Teaser: Blackbriar Cove

It wasn’t as though Jo had forgotten who and what they were. But life as a human had been easier in so many ways. Faye never quite let her forget, and the life their parents presented for Amie’s sake had been false. But there had been moments when Jo could close her eyes and almost believe.  Faye had at least the presence of mind to pretend a while longer, until Jo could put Amie under. The spell wouldn’t last much longer, because Faye was barely under control, and Jo was weakening.

I hope today finds you in a good place. I hope you've enjoyed the sunshine wherever you are in the world, and that you're hanging in there one day at a time. Let's "keep swimming" and meanwhile, enjoy this week's sneak peek inside Blackbriar Cove.

Weekly Writerly Witterings ~ Why I Was Ready to Give Up Writing

After a year’s hiatus, I came back to publishing to a whole new world. Many of the authors I had followed were no longer publishing. The ones still around either rocketed to stardom or cut comfortable corners into their perspective niches. Many of the methods I had utilized at the start of my career were null and void, I just wasn’t aware until it was too late.

Weekly Writerly Witterings ~ Dear Diary…

About a month before watching Cathy Hay's video, I pulled out my high school journals "for research." I've had an idea for a YA novel/novella series for some time, but I wanted to step back into the shoes of Fifteen. Boy, did my journals deliver.
