Happy Friday, friends! When I found out the author of this novel was a 6th-generation Texan, I had to take a peek at her novel, The Knotted Ring. Turns out this not only has gorgeous cover art and an intriguing premise but is a semi-finalist in the Laramie Awards for Western and Americana Fiction. WOW y'all, that's huge! Congrats to Myra and we wish you the best of luck! To those of you lucky enough to see this post, keep scrolling to learn more and enter the raffle ๐
Why Do Reviews Matter?
Over a decade into my author career, I know better than to read every review. I stay away from Goodreads on principle unless it's to share my own thoughts on recent reads. But I do tend to read what's posted on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and elsewhere. Usually, it's a fantastic experience, until it's not...

To Look Ahead & Behind
This may just be me, but I feel like I've been in a race against myself for the last year. No matter how I delegated my time and made breaks for yoga, walks, and just moments to breathe. No matter how on top of my "to-do" list I managed. No matter how often I told myself to just take it a day at a time. Nothing totally did away with that niggling background voice chanting: "Not enough, not enough, not enough..."

The village was ringed by the greater forest and the mountains beyond this and the rush of a nearby river, called the Silver, sang in her ears. Shivers slipped down her spine as she recalled the deadly plunge she and Grolthox had taken down the falls. Wolfsbane had warned her the waters were full of magick. It was a wonder the superstitious wylderfolk should choose to build their home close by.

Teaser Tuesday: Scarred Beauty
Vynashaโs vision turned red. Red like Wynythโs roses, like the blood theyโd shed to make new life. Red like her fatherโs lifeblood seeping into the river. Red like the ruby on the hilt of her dagger, glinting in the sun as she pressed its blade to the alphaโs neck.

Her first clear memory was of Ceddrychโs smiling golden face as he helped her cross the yard to Motherโs rose garden. A time when the land was in bloom and the world shone in her childโs gaze with an effervescent glow. Vynasha had seen magick in everything when she was still small, before Wynythโs passing the following winter. โWatch over my little starling,โ Mother had whispered with her dying breath. Ceddrych had only drawn Vynasha closer and sworn, โWith my life.โ
