Something I’ve realized while working on the second draft of Silver Hollow is how much I just miss writing in general! There really is a difference between working a new draft and staring at that blank screen with nothing but your mind telling you “what’s next?”.
Talking to another newbie author I was reminded how important it is to keep writing. And I love working on a story straight through. It’s just the fine tuning that feels so time-consuming.
I was actually talking to one of my friends the other day about how writing is similar to trying to finish any other creative project. When you’re just starting out with that skeleton work it’s hard to see the big picture. And sometimes a project just seems to go on forever and ever! But there’s always that shining light at the end of the tunnel. If you just focus on one piece at a time it really does go by faster. Next thing you know you’re done with 3/4 of your piece and then ready to start the process all over again.
So if you’re currently looking at your own little pet project, or an insurmountable situation in life, don’t sweat it! Just keep focusing on eating the elephant one bite at a time.

Reason number one is, well, there’s just no other way to eat an elephant lol.
Number two is because if you tried eating an elephant all at once, you’d die of course!
Hope y’all have a fantabulous weekend!
