The first book I self-published was a novella called Qeya, A Heaven’s Edge Novella. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the story, here’s a quick synopsis:
Qeya has spent her life set to drift on heaven’s edge. Being Royal means more than being groomed to rule her home planet. She may only be fifteen, but she knows how to wield a scythe blade and suck the life out of her enemy, literally.
Until her ship is attacked and nearly everyone on board is murdered. If she hadn’t run into the filthy miner who saved her life, Second Deck might never have jettisoned into the atmosphere of the hostile world her people were exploring. Now, the Royal children have become the backwater scions of the universe, and the miner who saved her is the only thing standing between them and the hungry beasts hunting them.
Qeya’s story quickly spawned a sequel from the miner’s perspective, Ohre. I had begun plans for a third in the series, from yet another character’s POV, but several outsid circumstances prevented me from finishing.
Now, thanks to Jessica Augustsson of JayHenge Publishing, the Heaven’s Edge Series can continue. JayHenge Publishing was created by Jessica Augustsson when, “our editor had seen far too many good authors slipping through the cracks of today’s publishing world. Readers are looking for great stuff to read and we want to help provide it.”
Recently, JayHenge partnered with me to help bring the Heaven’s Edge novellas back to life. Now we are looking to publish Tamn, the third in this series, and other part to our epic love triangle in Spring of 2016. After that, who knows? There are many stories to be told in the Heaven’s Edge universe and I can’t wait to share them with y’all.
