Sneak Peek: Bound Beauty from the Wylder Tales Trilogy

Still, she couldn’t deny how the persistent itch beneath her skin abated with him beside her, holding her hand. It shouldn’t have mattered. Truly, she hated how easily she gave in to these feelings. She could never tell him. Grendel had bound her life to his. Even if she were to leave, to beg the wylderfolk to take her back into their home, she would never be rid of him. And the longer she remained in the prince’s castle, the less she wanted to be free.

Slaying Dragons and Imposter Demons

Going somewhat "off grid" for the last two months has made me really slow down and wrestle with my imposter demon. I realized that it's okay if I still haven't figured out the "business" of writing after a decade of paddling through this crazy market. What I'm best at is this. I'll never post a viral TikTok or Instagram and I don't think I really want to. I would rather write books, and write about books, and sometimes share something true and genuine with you.

Hello friends, and welcome back to the blog that just won't quit - thirteen (thirteen???) years later. Yes, in the face of more popular social platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Substack (probably ten others I'm too old to know about) — I am stubbornly plodding along.

Actual writing updates?

It's still May 2025 and I'm frankly baffled that I have actual writing and publishing news to share with all of you today. After such a long hiatus where writing was a struggle, and words came out in trickles, I am now beyond stoked to report the floodgates have opened, y'all. Hallellujah and all that jazz!

Bound Beauty Update

To those of you who have been patiently waiting for the next in my Wylder Tales series, I wanted to thank you so much for your support, and to apologize for yet another delay. Because I had already been forced to push back my pre-order's release date on Amazon, I ran out of additional dates and had to take down my listing today. This doesn't mean I won't release Bound Beauty period, just that we're looking at a summer release instead of spring.

When I started publishing, I focused on blogging more than sending newsletters, social media, or even ads. Since having my second kid and moving into a new home, it's been more difficult to make time for blogging on top of work and writing. But with the new year I'm back again, hoping to dive back fully into my first online social love. Meanwhile, enjoy a peek into (and maybe even pre-order...) Bound Beauty today.
