Today’s #teasertuesday is cordially brought to you by my favorite Borderlands character, Arthur. Also known as the man who would be king again, and everyone’s favorite grandpa. What would we do without him?
Before you begin, know these teasers hold major spoilers if you haven’t already read Silver Hollow. For those who have, or those who fancied a piece of fiction, happy reading!

Blackbriar Cove
Borderlands #2 Teaser
“Remember the summer you decided to go gremlin hunting, magpie?” Arthur was saying while leading Amie through the scarred corridors of the West Wing.
Amie winced as she tripped over a fallen beam. “I really need to clean this place up…surely the ghosts would understand?”
“You had overheard your mother speak of her latest hunt,” Arthur continued as though he hadn’t heard her speak. “So eager, were you to prove your capabilities a knight, that we almost didn’t catch you in time.”
Amie nodded and Arthur’s arm shifted against hers as he used his hands to tell their story. There was so much she remembered of Nimue’s life, and much else she had forgotten of the time she had been Jessie. Memories of her grandfather were strongest.
“Per chance of fate, I happened to ken exactly what you were up to. Yet you’ve always been crafty in your ways and by the time I found you, the little gremlins had you surrounded.”
Amie blinked and some of the fog in her mind lifted. “I was covered in gremlin spat.” The corner of her mouth twitched.
Arthur chuckled, softly, so as not to disturb the ghosts. “Aye, you were. You might have died from the effects too if not for your bloodlines.”
Amie glanced up at him from the corner of her eyes. “You helped clean me up. Mother never knew any better.”
Arthur released her arm and placed his hands on her slumped shoulders. He waited until Amie lifted her chin and then said, “I shall always guard your secrets, magpie. I know well the value of them when so many eyes are watching.”
She knew what he didn’t say.
She knew he would protect and guard her no matter what.
She knew because of her, he would never die or leave her as Emrys or her father had.
He was her one constant and it was everything she could do to rest her hands over his and squeeze. The golem’s sorrow and all her fears of what was to come seemed smaller against Arthur’s returning smile.
“Go on, Jessie. I shall keep the wolves at bay.” He gently turned her around to face her bedroom door.
She twisted the doorknob and walked through without argument.
to be continued…
“In a single night of madness, Amie won the battle and lost the two people she loved most. As she struggles to be the queen her people need, her family band together against the hidden threat at their borders.
Haunted by the ghosts of her past, Amie strikes a pact with an ancient being called The Storyteller. In order to see Emrys again, they must put aside their blood feud, and cross the veil to a place of spirits and monsters.
Blackbriar Cove is a land where superstition and chaos reign, and spirits plague dreams. A dark curse has twisted the Unseelie who once lived in the home the Blackbriar twins vowed never to return. But death is not the end in Silver Hollow, and the war for the Borderlands has only begun.”
